  • 1550m² of floor and wall tiling to changing rooms, showers, WCs, pool perimeter, pool benching and store rooms.
  • 1300m² of removal of existing tiling and making good surface area in preparation for new tiling including sand and cement screeding and self levelling compounds
  • Installation and tiling over access panels
  • Installation of gullies, manholes and vent grills

Project Outcomes

The works were completed to schedules set out by main contractor and Staffordshire Council.

Lessons Learnt

  • Be prepared to challenge manufacturers on the performance of their materials as the epoxy grout stained the tiles and although the manufacturer said there product was sound it was discontinued soon after for performance issues.
  • Ensure that additional works are captured in updates to the programme and any additional time required is clearly communicated to the client.
  • Implementation of new inventory procedures and processes to manage multiple sites in close proximity. Improvements to logistical procedures to distribute materials between sites. Helped cost efficiencies by reducing overordering and wastage.
