The Chocolate Factory Block E2 is part of the wider redevelopment of the former sweet factory built in the 1930s, located in the Wood Green Cultural Quarter off Clarendon Road which will see the creation of 230 new homes, the refurbishment of the factory, and extensive public realm improvements as well as new workshops, galleries, and studios for local businesses. The block is seven stories with a set back top storey, inset balconies, and glazed brick entrances.
BSel were appointed as the external rendering contractor on this scheme to deliver a rendered finish on 2 of the walls of the block buildings as well as Car park entrance elevations:
The works were completed on time and in line with the main contractor’s schedules to the required quality with less than 5 snags.
Lessons Learned
Enhanced our Cost and Schedule Tracking Systems through use of Daily and weekly logs/reports for outputs which were measured against programme and anticipated durations to ensure task is on track to complete in desired time and within budget.
